Brief History
The office of the SP/CID(Tech), Manipur, Imphal recently started functioning after the trifurcation of State CID(SB) w.e.f. 02/12/2013 vide ADGP(Int.), Manipur order No. 1/2/2013-ADGP(Int.) dated 02/12/2013. At present the office is housed at the CID(Head Quarters), Manipur, Imphal.
Mandate, Duties and responsibilities of this Unit are :-

To give Technical Support to the functioning of the Manipur Police Department by installing/operative/handling of security gadgets at vital installations/offices/places/routes of VIP visits/meetings, state/national function for frisking / checking, etc.

Maintenance and up-gradation of security gadgets.

Manning / operation and monitoring the CCTV systems installed at CM/Bungalow and Raj-Bhavan round the clock.

Recording and maintenance of the photographs of criminals, scenes of crime, etc.

Video/photo recording of State/ National functions.

Detection and disposal of Bombs/RCIEDs and any explosive.

Anti-sabotage checks of important places, vital installations on a daily basis as well as checks of places to be visited by VIPs/VVIPs any where within the state.
