Brief History
The office of the SP/CID(Security), Manipur, Imphal recently started functioning after the trifurcation of State CID(SB) w.e.f. 02/12/2013 vide DGP, Manipur vide order No. 3/2/2013-AB/1405 dated 02/11/2013 and ADGP(Int.), Manipur order No.1/2/2013-ADGP(Int)/481 dated 02/12/2012. At present, the office is housed at the CID(Head Quarters) Old Building, Manipur, Imphal.
Mandate, Duties and responsibilities of this Unit are :-

Security of protected persons of the State and frisking at the residential or Official Building.

Security coverage of VIPs and VVIPs.

Security of Raj Bhavan, security of CM's Secretariat-cum-residence and security of His Excellency, the Governor of Manipur while on tour, security of Hon'ble Chief Manipur while on tour etc.

Access control in any visit of State and National VIPs and VVIPs.

Preparing ASL and other information.

Preparing security pass relating to VIPs and VVIPs visit, issuing Car Pass and other passes related to security in any protected area.

Security of the Govt. offices, Institution, Bungalow, etc.

Plainclothes security arrangements on occasion of State and national functions.

The security of vital installations.

Training of personnel on security related issues.

Matters relating to security of visiting dignitaries carry out frisking and checking at times of VIPs/VVIPS visit and at times of State and National functions.

Any others duties/work entrusted by ADGP(Int.).
