On 18/03/1996 in an ambush laid by some unknown armed extremists at Chingarel on Ukhrul
Road while he was in the escort party of SDPO Lamphel
and were proceeding towards Sawombung from Imphal in connection with an arson case of Government
vehicle at Sawombung, arms and ammunitions were snatched away by the extremists from the spot. In the encounter he succumbed
to bullet injury. This refers to Case FIR No. 31(3)96 of Lamlai PS U/S 121/121-A/302/307/326/397/427 IPC, 25(1-B) Arms Act
and UA(P) Act. |
